ERC Starting Grants to Norwegian Researchers

Nansen Neuroscience Network would like to congratulate Koen Vervaeke and Hedvig Nordeng for receiving European Research Council (ERC) Starting Grants. ERC Starting Grants are designed to support top up-and-coming research leaders who are at the career stage at which they are starting their own independent research team or programme.

ERC grantees Vervaeke (Department of Biosciences) and Nordeng (Department of Pharmacy) are both from University of Oslo. Nordeng's project, Effects of Medication Use in Pregnancy on Infant Neurodevelopment, aims to assess prenatal medication exposure and infant neurodevelopment. This project runs for five years and has been granted 1,5 MEUR.

Vervaeke's project SurfaceInhibition explores how the brain processes sensory stimuli. This will bring us one step closer to be able to map and understand the human brain. SurfaceInhibition has been granted 1,35 MEUR and will run for five years.

Congratulations!
